Glossary of Titles
BH - Beiglethund (Traffic Steady Companion Dog) - obedience and temperament test all dogs must pass before being allowed to compete for regular Schutzhund titles. Roughly equivalent to AKC Companion Dog obedience title plus Canine Good Citizen test.
CD - Companion Dog. Novice level of traditional AKC obedience titles. Roughly equivalent to obedience required in the BH test.
CDX - Companion Dog Excellent. Intermediate level of traditional AKC obedience titles. Roughly equivalent to obedience required in SchH/VPG 1.
FH - Fartenhund (Tracking Dog). Advanced tracking title under Schutzhund rules. Roughly equivalent to TDX title from American Kennel Club.
RN - Rally Novice: The first level of AKC (American Kennel Club) Rally-Obedience titles. Less precise (and more fun) than traditional AKC obedience.
SchH / VPG: Working Dog titles earned under United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USA), DVG or other internationally recognized Schutzhund organizations. Levels range are 1 (novice), 2 (intermediate) and 3 (advanced). Dogs must successfully complete all three phases of the sport (tracking, obedience and protection).
IPO: Working Dog titles earned under IPO rules. Minor differences with SchH/VPG.
